Mythri Natyalaya (Artistic Director: Smt Shirni Kanth) presented their annual show case on June10, 2019 at Mission city center for performing arts, Santa Clara with the theme- Bhavadeeya, Eternally grateful— offering their gratitude and celebrating the greatness of numerous lineages of gurus with their priceless contributions to the fields of music and dance. Without their timeless contributions, and tireless efforts in passing this knowledge from generation to generation , today we would not be witnessing and enjoying these art forms. Hence they have extended their deepest gratitude to all the great composers , musicians , nattuvanars, choreographers, teachers, and the rasikas for their invaluable contributions. They presented works of a few of those great souls like Tyagaraja, Dr Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, Oothukadu Venkata Kavi, Annamacharya, Sri Vempati Chinna satyam and Smt Rukmini Devi Arundale.
Brahmanjali, Jhem Jhem(Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna), brundava Nilaye, Marakatha manimaya (Oothukadu Venkata Kavi)choreographed by Guru Padmabhushan Sri Vempati Chinna Sathyam, Jathiswaram in ragam vasanta A tanjore quartet composition choreographed by Guru Sri A Lakshman, Sreemannarayana, Govindasritha compositions of Annamacharya- choreographed by Smt Shirni Kanth, Hindolam thillana choreographed by Late Smt Rukmini Devi Arundale, and pure music number in Jog by Anoushka Shankar were presented. Endaro Mahanubhavulu by saint Tyagaraja was presented as the central piece with live music- Anirudh Raja and Avinash Anand disciples of Sri Paduka academy on Vocals, Aswin Surya and Aadit Kolli on Mridangam disciples of Shri Ramesh Sreenivasan, Guru Shri Susheela Narasimhan and his disciple Raghav Narasimhan on Violin, Navya Maithri Konda disciple of Smt Deepa Mahadevan on Nattuvangam accompanied the dancers. Artistic director Set Shirni Kanth extended her gratitude to all the parents of Mythri Natyalaya, her Gurus and the volunteers. It was another successful year with some good music and dances.
