ATA Celebrates 2024 Womens Day In Boston

Empowering Women: ATA’s Inspiring Women’s Day Celebration

On April 6th, 2024, the vibrant city of Burlington, MA, was alive with the spirit of empowerment and celebration as the ATA (American Telugu Association) held its Women’s Day celebration. Led by the dynamic ATA Regional Director, Malla Yanala, and an exceptional team of individuals including Anitha Reddy Yajnik, Shilpa Sripuram, Deepika Reddy, Rajender Kalavala, and Sudhir Prodduturi, the event stood as a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment.

Malla Yanala set the tone for the evening with a stirring address, shedding light on ATA’s overarching mission of inclusivity and support for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Emphasizing that ATA does not limit its reach to people of Telugu origin alone, Malla highlighted the organization’s commitment to assisting individuals from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. Gratitude was extended to the dedicated committee and the remarkable all-women crew whose efforts made the event possible, including Vasudha Kudrimoti, the talented photographer, Shilpa Sripuram, the creative decorator, DJ Shyla, and our esteemed bartender Michelle Mackenzie.

Taking the stage as moderator and host for the evening, Anitha Reddy Yajnik eloquently spoke of the significance of Women’s Day events and celebrations, emphasizing the power of dialogue, action, and mutual inspiration in driving positive change. With grace and poise, she then introduced the
distinguished panelists, each a trailblazer in their own right, who shared their remarkable journeys and insights with the audience.

Dr. Manju Sheth, a physician with a passion for media and President of INE multimedia, Women Who Win, and other esteemed organizations, illuminated the audience with her wisdom and experiences. Aditi Taylor, Senior Vice President at MFS Investment Management and a recognized leader in the New England community, shared her journey of leadership and service. Priya Iyer,
CEO of Concertiv and an MIT Sloan Fellow, captivated the audience with her entrepreneurial spirit and remarkable achievements. Anitha Gopalan, an accomplished finance executive with over 25 years of experience, inspired with her tales of resilience and leadership.

The panel discussion delved deep into the personal and professional challenges faced by these remarkable women, shedding light on the layers of expectation placed upon them by society, family, and themselves. The audience was spellbound as each panelist shared their struggles, triumphs, and insights, leaving a lasting impact on all who were present.

Beyond the expected time, the discussion continued, underscoring the universal message that every woman’s journey is unique, yet interconnected by the shared experiences of resilience and determination. The evening culminated in a joyous celebration of womanhood, with Tollywood-style
entertainment that not only lifted spirits but also served as a reminder of the strength and resilience inherent in every woman.
