The Telugu community of Greater Toronto Area had Summer Picnic on 17th August, 2019 Hundreds of Telugu families from surrounding cities Toronto, Markham, Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Waterdown, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Hamilton, Milton and other areas have joined the day long potluck picnic.
The day started with heavy rain in the morning and rained till 10am. In spite of the down pour many families came with their tasty dishes to share with other Telugu families. Received remarkable responses from the participants with a glow of happiness and sparkles of joy in participating this event successfully with full of family Socialization, Food Sharing and entertainment. Everyone enjoyed great varieties of Telugu food delights.
Directors Govardhan Konda, Swati Kanakagiri, Sai Ram with the help of their Spouses and several other volunteers conducted different,Games,Sports and Entertained the Telugu Families. As a social responsibility TCAGT conducted Diabetes Seminar sponsored by Global Telugu Lions Club and Diabetes Canada. Volunteers from Diabetics Canada created awareness and educated about Diabetics and its implications on individual health and its Management.Every one appreciated the inputs they got from the Diabetics Canada Volunteers.
A variety of food and games were well organized for all ages to enjoy. The menu included Fruit punch, roasted corn, Samosa for appetizers, a variety of rice dishes, chapattis, curry and sweets for lunch, tea and fresh Mirapakai Bajji,Pakoda’s for Snacks.
Fruits,Cake and ice cream for dessert.
Kids loved playing in water Fountain, Kids Slidings,Swings etc in the park area. males played Cricket and Foodball, while the ladies enjoyed Back throwing ball game with their husbands and Tug of war. From Morning to evening time flew with different activities, Food and Fun. Thank you attendees for making the picnic wonderful.
