Detroit Telangana Community DTC Celebrates 2019 Summer Picnic

Detroit Telangana Community (DTC) of Metro Detroit area celebrated their annual summer picnic on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 in Wildlife Woods park, Novi. This event was attended by one hundred and fifty community members from different suburbs of Detroit.

The picnic started with a kickoff speech by DTC’s president, Raju Brahmandhabheri welcoming all the community members who attended the event. He also acknowledged the contribution of various local business sponsors for various DTC activities. The event was received remarkable responses from the participants with a glow of happiness and sparkles of joy in participating this event successfully with full of family socialization, food Sharing and entertainment. Everyone enjoyed great varieties of food delights.

A variety of games for kids were well organized for all ages from 0 to 13. Kids actively participated in these games to win trophies for 1st and second places in each of these games. Games such as Lemon spoon race, Musical chair, bean bag toss, Golf ladder were organized. Adults activities kicked off with a variety competition to speak in Telugu language for two minutes without the usage of English words. Sandhya Uppula garu took the first prize and Lalitha garu, a visitor from India took the second place. The game with most fun and entertaining for the adults was Minute to Win it game. There was a total of six teams with each team consists of five members competed for first and 2nd places. The first place went to team consists of Ramu Kathuroju, Muthu Swamy, Santhosh Ankam, Raj Kumar Duppala and Swapna Chanda. The second place went to the team consists of members, Sandhya Uppula, Srujana Pingili, Divya Bejagam, Sandhya Parankusham and Shailaja Avusula. Bingo was played by all the participants and competed for cash prizes.

Board of Directors, Hari Krishna Parankusham, Hari Maroju, Shailendra Sanam, Vijayabhaskar Pallerla, Raj Madishetty, Srinivas Dhenuvakonda, Krishna Gududuguntla, Raj Kaukuntla, Satheesh Pingili and Sreedhar Aietha participated in the event along with their families. Executive Committee member Partha Kandala and Advisory Committee, Nagendra Aytha, Venkat Manthena, Ramgopal Uppula also joined the event with their families. DTC’s board, advisory and executive teams including other community members volunteered for various activities planned at the event.

From Morning to evening time flew with different activities, Food and Fun. Detroit Telangana Community’s President, Raju Brahmandhabheri thanked the members again and invited them to the biggest flagship event, Bathukamma& Dasara celebrations scheduled on October 5th in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
