Telangana People’s Association of Dallas (TPAD) Sunday, October 15th, celebrated chinnabathukamma in Andrew Brown Park East in Coppell, TX.
TPAD celebrated the first day of the festival called Engili pula Bathukamma in a grand manner. Women made beautiful floral Bathukammas and turned out in large numbers. They sang Bathukamma songs of goddess Gauri devi and danced to those songs.
Large number of parents visiting from India were seen participating in the celebrations. The celebration was supervised and guided by Raghuveer Bandaru(Chair of Foundation Committee), Sudhakar Kalasani(Chair of BOT), Linga Reddy Alva (President) and Roja Adepu(Coordinator). Executive Committee leadership team Ramana Lashkar (Past President), Anuradha Mekala(Vice President), Rathna Uppala (Secretary) and BOT guided and helped the Bathukamma team of Gayatri Giri(Bathukamma Chair) and Anusha Vanam(Bathukamma Co Chair) and Indrani Pancherupula(Advisor). Audio team led by Bala Ganapavarapu and Naresh Lingampalli played Bathukamma songs. The Nimajjanam team led by Shravan Nidiganti and Suchendra babu arranged water and makeshift tubs to do nimajjanam.
Logistic organized by Santosh Regonda, food committee lead by Harishankar Reddy Resu and Prashanth Nimmani arranged food and Tea. Raffle team led by Madhavi Lokireddy and Harika Palwai announced that there are multiples raffles for a BMW bike and gold coins. Media team led by Madhumathi Vysyaraju and Aditya Gade spread the word about this grand event. The 9th day called Saddula Bathukamma or pedda Bathukamma is scheduled to be held at Comerica Center (Dr Pepper Arena) on October 21st. with actress Samyuktha Menon as Chief Guest.
